I read an interesting essay related to scientific research that argued failure is vital to success. It’s literally not possible to attain success without failure. The idea is that without a failure (or lots of them) to act as a sort of benchmark, it’s not possible to define success and degrees thereof.
That theory always makes me feel better when I make a big mistake.
