Land Clearing and Grubbing
Land Clearing and Grubbing Near Bozeman
A wooded or overgrown parcel has to be opened up before anything else can happen on it. Pluckandfeather clears trees, brush, and undergrowth, then grubs out the stumps and roots below the surface so they cannot rot, settle, or heave under a future pad or driveway. We haul the debris off or mulch it on-site, whichever fits your parcel and your budget.
Why Grubbing Below Grade Matters
Cutting a tree at the ground is not clearing. If the stump and root ball stay in place, they decompose over the years and leave voids that let a slab or a gravel lane sink. On the parcels around Gallatin Gateway and Four Corners, where lots back up to timber and heavy brush, proper grubbing is what separates a stable building site from one that fails a few seasons later. We pull the roots and backfill the voids with compacted fill.
Our Process
We drop and remove the vegetation, extract stumps and roots with an excavator, and separate the good topsoil from the woody debris. Grindings can be spread as mulch or trucked away. On sites disturbing an acre or more, we set silt fence and erosion control first so cleared soil does not wash toward the East Gallatin drainage during a storm.
